Shipping is the cheapest long-distance transportation method, covering 95% of manufactured goods. However, this comes at a cost as nearly all ships run on environmentally harmful fuel and, due to size, lack the ability for customer-oriented, flexible and resilient supply chains.

CargoKite has developed a new ship class that stands out in three ways. It has emission-free operations with wind as the only means of propulsion, is fully autonomous, and has a relatively smaller size with a capacity of 16 standard containers per vessel. This novel ship class enables cargo shipping at the same low prices, but is emission-free with the ability for individualized transport that has systemic advantages for low inventory, high transparency, just-in-time delivery shipping, and more.
